Parent’s Involvement in Child’s Play- It’s significance

Parents are the primary caretaker of a child and kids are also most closely attached with their parents, because they have sense of feeling secure and being loved by parents. Children also love to spend their time with parents and for kids most of the tasks are play, even if an infant is involved in sucking thumb is a form of play for him.

Below are some of the significance of parent’s involvement in child’s play.

  • Parent’s involvement in play is important so that they can provide them with the appropriate materials and many times mothers are the one who provide them with a new perspective and another way to play with a same toy, children’s imagination also broadens.
  •  Children who are more attached to their parent’s and get involved with them in play tend to explore the physical environment around them and uses of objects in the presence of parents.
  •  Parent’s involvement helps children to get sociable with peers effectively and easily.
  •  Children are more likely to function independently and they also have more curiosity and behavioral flexibility.

Parent’s involvement helps them to build strong relationship with their child. Along with building a strong relationship parents can also help their children to get involved in various activities that can help them in their cognitive, physical, socio-emotional and language skills. Activities for children will be fun and when they see their parents getting involved and acting like a companion they will take more interest in the activities or any other play that you get involved in. At last it is important to know that not only child and parent play is essential, we should not forget the essence of peer play, self play and other forms of play that help children to grow, learn and develop.
